Jim Brickman - A Joyful Christmas Columbus Concert reviews
No Boyd, No Flair
Boyd not showing up 24 hours before the show was a strange and depressing move. It clearly showed as the band trudged through their hits and didn't stray too far into anything new, exiting, or different. The Petty tribute was a nice touch, as was the surprise performance from Robert Randolph. It would have been nice to see more guests given the high number of musicians in town for the game. In fact, my wife and I felt that a partial refund, even a dollar, would have been nice to show that we didn't get the full band experience we paid for. Having seen DMB upwards of 20 times, I have seen my fair share of awesome shows and one or two duds. This was definitely the latter. Without Boyd, the show lacked inspiration. We know that people have their own issues, and we don't fault Boyd for that, but we feel that something more should have been said or done to address the issue, especially with such short notice.
